100MW Utility-Scale Solar Plant Design

SolarFinance

End-to-end solar plant design from site assessment to financial close for a 100MW utility-scale solar project in Rajasthan, India.

Tools: PVsyst, AutoCAD, SolarGIS, Excel Financial Models
Key Result: Project worth ₹450 Cr, achieved 12% reduction in LCOE

Overview

This project involved the complete technical and financial design of a 100MW utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducted detailed solar resource assessment using SolarGIS and Meteonorm data
  • Optimized module selection and array layout using PVsyst simulation
  • Performed shadow analysis and energy yield prediction
  • Developed financial models for project finance and LCOE calculation

Results

  • Energy Yield: 215 GWh/year
  • LCOE: ₹2.85/kWh (12% below industry average)
  • Project Finance: Secured at 70:30 debt-equity ratio

Technical Details

The plant uses monocrystalline PERC modules with single-axis trackers to maximize energy capture. The inverter solution employs central inverters with a DC/AC ratio of 1.35.
